the windshield trim?
if you remove it, you see the rough edge of the windshield and the sealant.

if you are removing yours, i need some more as mine keeps flying off.

If it is just the chrome trip that is inside of the plastic you are talking about, it is only glued on. If you peel it off there is just black plastic underneath.

Oops, but I just looked at your truck and I am pretty sure when you pull that chrome off there is just a painted metal piece in the same shape of the chrome that goes around the window like on older mustangs.

well im thinking about taking the chrome trim off... I don't want it to look goofy without it though.

just leave it, it looks fine with it on there, and it matchs the front and back window. Or tape it off, scuff it up and spray it flat black to match the truck . May want to etch prime it first though.

I'd recommend leaving it on, the gap between the body and the ext cab windows look really shitty if its not on there. On top of the fact that shaving it would be a lot more difficult that just pulling the chrome part off.

so there is gap there then... im gonna have to take it off for what i've got in mind anyways... i guess i'll end up getting some new stuff custom made after.

Yeah, there is and it looks nasty, so you'll have to figure something out.
