4.3 or 350 in a dawg...
Does anyone have pics of their motor mounts? I know Rudy told me at one time the ultimate customs kit was a waste because it wouldn't lay with this kit. I have finally got the kick in the ass to work on my truck again, and just curious if anyone has pics of some motor mounts.
The only thing that will not lay with the ultimate customs kit is the replacement crossmember. I plan to section my oil pan and keep my factory crossmember and just beef it up a bit. I done the 5.0 swap myself but dont know anything about the 350 or 4.3 however I do have the kits if interested. Same principle as the 5.0 kit but I just dont know how much work is involved in those.
I say make your own mounts and save the money from the ultimate kit. Speedway has universal ford mount kits for ~60 bucks, if you can weld up a bodydrop chances are you can weld in some motor mounts and make a tranny mount. That way you can mount it as high as you want, use the stock crossmember.

the 100 thousand dollar question though, will the tranny fit the tunnel if the engine is mounted higher?
hmmmm.
well that can always be taken care of. All i would have to do is cut out the tranny tunnel and fab a new one. Thats the easy part.

blitch if your gonna do a 350 i highly suggest you go into that firewall a few inches, this will help you out in so many ways.
you will thank yourself later...trust me.

hey man just build your own motor mounts thats what i did and mine lays flat
thats fine. Rudy i am only going with a 4.3. Can't beat a free motor. All i gotta do is find a tranny.
