Gas prices, WTF!!!!

There are only 149 refineries in the USA.We haven't built a new refinery in 30 years because of all the pollution laws we have. Plus all the refineies are at 90-95% full so if one catches on fire or gets shutdown then there is an automatic shortage. The system is so stretched that 10 percent of the nation's daily diet of gasoline must now be imported(already refined). Then the hurricane slammed the Gulf of Mexico coast, the source of almost a third of U.S. oil output. So you do the math!!!

Do me a favor and ask Uncle Sam why the area with more oil than anywhere on earth exports its stock no stops pipeline to Japan? Alaska~ Get out your history book, and then tell me its all innocent and logical why we are at mercy for gas~~

a place by me sells propane at $1.99/gal.. propane cars get 30-40MPG. those are nice cars im thinkin of switchin 2 propane...

even if you don't buy gas, your still paying for it. the prices of everything else will go up to balance out the money they have to dish out. the only thing that won't change is the fact that i'll still be broke.

First Jeremy you're exactly right! You can thank Bush Sr. for signing the EPA into action and screwing us from ever building new refineries in the USA. You can thank the EPA for such great things as smog pumps, catalytic converters and the emissions tests. Also, do you guys know why the price of steel is so damn high? Japanese companies have bought all of the us steel producing companies and now they make it over seas. Steel is just like fuel, whenever you corner the market and own it all, you can set whatever price you want. So now that we have steel production and fuel refining verseas, if we ever go to war, how in the hell to we protect ourselves?
And to J, you also hit the nail on the head BIGTIME. If the government, wether it be city, county or federal, would get the taxes off of fuel (not to mention other things) fuel would cost half as much. They're making money hand over fist and have the nerve to raise my taxes. Sounds like they need to stop spending. And diesel IS a by product of refining gasoline. That's the one they're making the most money on. Expect inflation after all these fuel hikes.
And don't get me started on open borders...LOL! Getting off my soapbox.
