i have a 96 ford f-150 and i took the sawzall to mine. once they were both cut off i welded the roof skin to the door jam. once that was all reenforced i took a 1/4 rod from the front of the window to the back. (right under where i just welded the seams up) once that was in there for some additional reenforcement i ground it all smooth and added a thin layer of bondo over it. the last thing that i wanted for it to do was crack. i have over 2 days worth of work to shave both of them (regular cab) a lot of work but def worth every bit of time. take your time and it can be done.

purpl7duece and brent have it right...it's going to take a long time and a lot of patience. Be slow and precise. If you get frustrated and you start seeing double just quit and come back to it later.

its not hte easy way out. it was put there for a reason.dont fuck with it.I had a 1972
chevy shortbed that i did that to it took me
a full week working on it 5 hours a day.it looked clean, but after 2 years it started to
have hair line cracks due to the stress being put on it from the 2 panels flexing
.even if u weld it up like i did it is still going to crack if you drive it lot.save your self money for a different mod.or due the rain gutters like IF CUSTOMS did on travis yellow short bed truck..........
