I've always heard of running straight 30 wt in the compressors. I burnt up my first compressor in 1 day with the stock ester oil, but on my new compressor, I've been going over a year using 30wt problem free

my buddies compressor locked up after 9 min accumulative of using it, over 3 day period, it took 60 seconds to fill his tank. we used it 3 times each day in that 3 day period, while finishing some body work on the truck, and that shit locked up. i guess some work out and some dont.

You put the oil in the right place but I believe that 5w30 is too thin...I run a mix of 30wt and lucas and mines been goin for over 2 years now, just be sure to check your oil levels periodically

Oh yeah, ;lots of cars had air in 77, I had a 61 impala wagon with factory air

I don't really understand, you heard squealing and when you looked the belt wasn't spinning? The belt should spin constantly, thats why it has a clutch. Do you have a serpentine belt or independent belt? Is it possible you are running an independent belt, had an alignment issue (the squeal) and then the belt jumped off?

the belt spins as it should as long as the compressor is off, when i turn the compressor switch on, then the serpentine belt stops spinning and starts squeeling...the guy told me to use havoling 5w 30 because he had been using it for months with no problems, ive got the truck for a week and its a lawnchair...the belt actually shredded off a few days ago, then i replaced it and the compressor went out 2 days later....

The belt will stop spinning if the comperssor is locked up....the squealing is the crank pulley spinning on the belt, trying to turn it

A sure fire way to tell if its locked up is to take the belt off, turn the switch on to engage the clutch(do not crank the truck!!) and see if you can turn the clutch with your hand. If it wont turn its furked!
