yeah my nissan was the same way with a 195/70/15 i could lay out with nothing cut out of the arms and without drop spindles
on my old nissan and my friends current one, we had to cut out some of the center of the lower control arm where it hits the frame. this was with 16s and 40 series tires. we also gusseted the sides of the control arms to regain some strength. i know for a fact that the lower arm hits the frame where it mounts. just jack the truck up w/o the tire and look where it hits.
my truck lays out on un cut control arms, stock balljoints, and STOCK 205/75/14 TIRES using drop spindles. Something aint stirrin the kool aid.

on my truck after i bagged it and put drop spindles on i sit about 1/2 off the ground in the front. When i pop the hood and look at it i can see the upper part of the shock mount hitting the upper control arm preventing it from going all the way down. I was gonna trim it to lay out completely but i also had to cut a ass load of my fender out along with cutting way up into the inside of the engine compartment. It went low enough down where even if i trimmed it i'd have to cut some more out.
