how rare is it to find an auto tranny in an 89 b2200?? this guy up from me has one and said he was told they are rare to find how true is this?? he wants to sell it and I may but it just cause I want another.. How well to the auto trannies hold up??

auto trannys do the impossible, they make a slow truck even slower. I've had a couple, I think its hard to find any mini with an auto, but there are more mazdas than any other I've seen. I've had three.
Cruising with it is awesome. And no pesky clutch master cylinder to interfere with your tire.

They came as a package with the bucket seats, power steering and auto transmission.I've got one. I usaed to own yet another one. Hell...I've never even driven a Manual B2200. I did race a few other stock B2200's and beat them...maybe it was the canopy and 800 lbs of audio equipment in the other truck, or, more likely, driver skill.The ATX is great for cruising and dragging and still looks like new inside after 15 years of abuse.

cool I am prolly gonna go buy that thing soon. He only wants like 500 so hell its nothing really and it needs brakes, are those Carbed? or Injected??

agreed. Mine had a problem with a noise at 70 mph, because the PO never changed the fluid and drove it to me from Sacremento CA. So it would make this strange noise only at that speed.. The local trans shop said likely just the bands were worn, no big deal.
You could get them in almost any configuration, carbed, FI, 2200, 2200 FI, 2600, 2600i. There seem to be a lot of 87 ext cab automatics, and 93 2600i ext cab automatics.
And Mike saw three at Slamboree 01, unless he stuck to his truck and didnt walk around. Mine and two others were on the show field.

i have had a manual and a auto and i am converting the manual i have now to a auto my auto runs nice low rpm at highway speed my manual would be winding out and as far as being slow my auto moved along just as fast as my manual so id go with the auto no problem i have 2 auto trannys sitting around both low mileage if anyone needs one.
