I've been looking into these plate slide kits and found 2 kits... The silverstar kit... Which is driven by a autoloc actuator or the AVS kit driven by a motor with a cable. Anyone who has the kit if they could give me your opinion on the kit you have and tell me how well its built and which one you think is worth buying...

AVS is in the process of making a new retractable plate that is more cost effective.

I'll keep you posted

I know nothing about these but the actuator sounds a little nicer than a little cable..

I've used the AVS ones on a few customers rides and never had a problem with them. I sell'em for 329.99 + shipping

shit with all of thes pop up plates coming out i may have to redo mine and make it flip, 720 flat spin, alley oop topside soul grind 30 feet, land fakey and misty flip into the plate bracket

build one...is cheaper than buying one. i have $65 and a couple hours worth of my time into miypop up tag

im sorry but i cant see the point in spending $300+ to make your license plate go up and down

I have the avs kit and I think it is great. It also got here very fast. Great product from a great company.

I just made one that was really simple. I used a heater blower motor from a 66 corvair to turn a threaded rod, which runs into a bolt hidden behind the plate. Regulated the voltage down to 6 volts, and ran it through a power window switch. Total cost about 3 bucks (most of it i had laying around). Works on the same principle as a screw type garage door opener. I know this is not the greatest for the long long term, because of the metal on metal contact, but it kept greased once or twice a year it should last a while, then to replace the rod after a while is one a few dollars.

i bought a 6" Air cylinder from grainger.com...part #6w151 it think, fabbed up some tracks, plumbed it with an old 3 way electric valve that i had, and cut some depth off of a Gravity-Werx tag box. welded her all up and viola...tag goes up and down.

i had to regulate it WAY down to about 3 psi though. i had it just sitting in the tracks and not bolted yet.... tested it and the tag box dented the 16ft high ceiling in the garage. so make sure you secure it before testing it
