'00 Chevy Fullsize that is planning on runnings 12s @ 110ish in the 1/4. He'd also like to bag the truck. What do y'all think about bags on a vehicle like this? If you don't see a problem, what would be the best setup?
I came across this old thread and am running into this situation with a 98 dakota. I have 700 hp going to it and would like to bag it and lay frame on the ground. To do this and get enough clearance I probably would not be able to use to ART bags. I have the rear wishboned already. I was thinkin Slam He 7" bags all around. Then some good adjustable shocks with a relocation kit. Any other suggestions/opinions on anything. Any recommeneded shocks?
my c10 is built to run hard at the track.. full cantilver parralel 4 link rear suspension with watts link and also an anti roll bar so i don't need alot of psi... this is with a blown 383 stroker...
Good luck passing tech with bags.
Id run either a forward parrallel or tiangulated 4 link, with shockwaves behind the axle. Done this setup with a few vehicles that see the track regularly. Never had any problem. The adjustable shock valving works wonders.
there is a chevelle i saw one time that runs 7's in a quarter mile and it is bagged all around. so im guessing it is ok to put them on a dragster. plus, i asked the same question to a company one time and they said bags are really good for dragsters.

not to be an ass.....but if that car runs 7s in the 1/4...its NOT on the street and its NOT on bags. Second...i see youre in South Carolina.....the majority of the tracks in SC and the rest of the south ARE 1/8th mile tracks. Half of those are outlaw tracks with no sanctioning bodies backing them, thus their tech rules are fairly nonexistent or flat out crapy. I HIGHLY doubt that car is running 7s, dragging on the street, and hooking up that well with bags. Thats too much power and too much motor work to running a street motor. And a car that fast would NOT pass tech on airbags. Im honestly surprised tracks are letting vehicles pass tech with airbags in anything except a Street class. Many tracks will say no to that

the track closest to me on open track nights just look real quik at your vehicle... and i will have a full floor covering my suspension so i bet they won't give a fock... they will prolly cheer it on to see what it will do..
NO IT DOES NOT WORK>> I RE-BUILT MY REAR SET-UP 4 TIMES AND IT WOULD NEVER RUN RIGHT ON THE STRIP. thats why i un-bagged it.. i promise u it will be a big mistake to try to put bags on a 12sec vehicle.. it will not work.. that much torque twists link bars and rips mounts off the frame. at 100+ mph the bags start twitching and bouncing from side to side if there is even 2psi difference in the bags. i promise u i tried for 2 1/2 years to do it.. BAGS AND 1/4 MILE DO NOT MIX tryin to leave the line in a 12 sec vehicle is not bad on a stock suspension but with a 2 or 4 or 5 link set-up it will have u'r pinion angle wrong on take off.. torque makes axle-wrap, which is detremental to power and link set-ups. it will constantly tear brackets off the frame. i promise.
