welding whats better 110 or 220?

hey guys well im about to buy a welder and i have the money to buy a 220 lincoln sp 175 plus...wanted to know if its worth the price of 220>???? it can do 1/4 in one pass....thats what i need to notch stuff...what do you guys think??
