Another Gas tank rolcation ? in the right forum this time

i have a 95 2.2 S-10 and before i get the back bagged i have to relocate the tank so i was wondering if its possible and safe to mount it in between the frame rails behind the axle and have the filler neck come up through the bed and should i ditch the charcoal canister?
