Toyota Hilux Question ??

Hi. I don't know much about Toyotas and I was wondering if a Toyota Hilux in Austraila is the Tacoma here? Or if not, what is a Hilux in the US? My question is on a 1993 if that makes a difference.Thanks in advance for the help!
