A/C Control

Im trying to switch out the ac control Cold/hot deal below the cup holders, its a 94 single cab, its got cables for the levers so i was wonder if theres an easy way to get the cables off? I have everything torn apart and it doesnt look like the unit will even come out cuz the bar behind it...any body ever done this and have pointers...
