well i was out and about at this place called a to z (they sell stuff out of 18 wheelers that have turned over) here in town and i came across some Dupli-color spray in bed liner... so i got to thinking this basically just like the spray in sound deadner ive used from audio engineering but its like 75 bucks a gallon. now this duplicolor stuff is the rattle can stuff and im not prone to use stuff out of a spray can but its like 3 bucks a can compared to the 8 bucks a can at wally world. i figure 4 to 6 cans would do the job covering the floor pan, back and side panels, inside the doors and roof.
im just wondering if it a good or bad idea???
If it's like under coat( spray type works well), than go for it. I used a product like Dyamat, though much less in cost & test higher, called FatMat
ive the hell out of dynamat its very expensive even with a friends discount and ive used audio engineering spray stuff and that stuff is the bomb but i dont have extra money anymore so i figure on the cheap if it would be worth it, this stuff is like under coat but is some what harder and more flexible without falling off
Sounds like it should be a go!!
the duplicolor in a can is a pretty decent product for what it is. much better than its competitors, but it is still an spray bomb product.
I once used scrap roof shingles and a tube of liquid nails to quite the interior of an old street car I had. It worked great, but it took a while for my interior to stop smelling like a construction zone in hot summer! One thing about undercoating and bed liner material I have learned: do not put it over rust! The rust will grow, and when it is time to repair it, it is a pain to remove it for repair!
