link bar ends???

instead of buying the weld on bar ends from suicidedoors, would it be possible to use the ones on my leaf springs? if my bushings look too worn out, i could get a leaf spring off of a newer truck to where theyd be alot better quality, let me know if cutting off the tubing end and welding it to my 2x2 would work. thanks
