Help with info of custom bag for a car

I have a ford zx2...and I was hoping someone could tell if I could weld ditch my hole strut setup in the rear of my car and weld up some custom upper and lower brackets similar to a trucks 4link(and use 2500 bags). I've plenty of trucks with brackets welded to their bars. My car has a trailing arms and lower control arms. Thanks for the help!
