Toyota Pinion

Hey im about to go next week to buy materials to start measuring and getting everything ready to 2link my toyota, but i was wondering if any of you have tips on what i should set the pinion to, im not going to use shims or weld the bars at an angle at the axle, im cutting a arch out of 2x3 or 2x4 to fit onto the bottom of the axle, so i can set the pinion and have it welded. im not exactly sure on how to check the pinion so if anyone can help me out, thanks.
