Where can I get stuff chrome plated?

I'm in s.c. are there anyshops that can chrome plate some engine parts for me? I'd prefer somewhere within a few hours away...I'm kinda shy about sending my parts to someone I cant meet...I've heard some horror stories about lost or destroyed parts..
