Pretaco ball joint flip

On my 91, I flipped my lower ball joints and got a bit of drop. I heard you can flip them to lay that front crossmember on 18's... anyways, that's not the problem.

The problem is I discovered today that the top bolt on the ball joint is now rubbing on the lower part of my bags! So what can I do besides unflip the ball joints? I was told some 1/8" sheet metal over the bolt will help, but anyone who has done this please give me some ideas.
