L.E.D. tails

i have an 85 xtra cab and i want to shave the tails and put in L.E.D. tails. though i cant find any fillers for my mini. will 89 fillers work? and im not sure if im gonna put the L.E.D.s in the top of the tailgate or in the Rollpan.
