Tuning my amp

Hey guys I just have a couple questions about tuning an amp, this is the first system I have and im having trouble getting that nice thump sound. Im just curious if anyone has any tips on how to set up an amp to get that nice thump sound. If it helps im running a 300.1 JBL mono amp. Thanks
