Hey guys, im looking at converting the front end on my 02' hilux in NZ to a Tacoma front of the same year.

Before i go out and order all the panels i was wondering if anyone on here has some pics of the Tacoma frame horns or core support???

Possibly somone may have pics of facelifting their taco to this model front?

Any help with this would be much appreciated.

if your current front end is in good condition you should trade someone here or on customtacos.com

if I had a 02 tacoma to take apart I would do it.

look for pics of Vegas the new owner may have done more to it.

the guy who built it said the conversion was a bit of a pain but it does look awesme.

Yeah have talked to both Vegas and the new owner and they are both keeping pretty quiet about how it's been done, and fair enough as thier one is the best example i have seen.
I have looked at the pics of their build and noticed they use complete taco panels and rad support and possibly a bit of a change to the frame horns is required. I guess its gonna be a bit of a case of buy the parts and make them fit.

A friend and I did a D22 nissan front on a D21 nissan hard body not so long ago so it cant be harder than that

from what ive read it involves narrowing the bonnet and shortening it.
i got this info from minitruckin mag about some guy who did it in japan.
but ive never done it, tho i have got a complete 94 teardrop 4runner front on my 82 just lay the parts out and stare at them for a while then get the tape and get cutting.

dont spose u know if vegas managed to get bedsides as well? i spose its all under wraps i only ever used to see it at shows with more work unvieled

Yeah i read the article about the japanese guy that had done it. I'll have to do like you said and just lay all the panels on and work from the doors forward i guess.

Vegas changed hands and now is owned by another trucker. He has changed the engine and a bunch of other stuff. He also is keeping it on the downlow and apparently will be taking it to ECC. There is a new build up thread on DUT
