problems with corner lights?

after i got my 4wd fenders, i waited a couple weeks before getting the new corner lights put on. when i did, only one of them worked (both bulbs were good). i didn't have time to figure it out, so i unplugged them both. now (a couple of months later) i am trying to fix it and both decided not to work (bulbs still good). the last time i checked my fuses, i think they were all ok. i think water may have gotten in there when they were unplugged and corroded some stuff, but its hard to tell. anyone dealt with this before? suggestions?

Get a test light & test both plugs to make sure that you are getting power to them. Having them unplugged you may have gotten some dirt & water in them.

yea, thats probably what happened. im going to check with a light tomorrow. if i don't get power because there is dirt and water in there, then how do i fix them? just clean the contacts off? i don't know how much room i will have.

i think the contacts in the corner light sockets are corroded from water and dirt. since they are pretty far down in the plastic connectors, what is the best way to get down in there? and what should i clean them with? thanks.

use some alchohol it works well as a cleaning agent and evaporates fast.

Autozone, Kragen, etc. sell connector cleaner. Comes in an aerosol can, so it has some power to blow out dirt, plus it evaporates quickly.

thanks for the help guys. i got the right light working. the left corner light isn't getting power to it, though. is there a fuse for the corner lights? or one fuse for each light? i could find any. is there something else i can do before trying to trace the line back to the power source? and if i have to do that, where exactly do those lines run?

Check your kick panel fuses under the driver side.

i checked the fuse box behind the driver kick panel and the one under the hood. neither have a fuse labeled for the running lights, but i checked all of them anyway and they are fine. can i just tap into the power line of the left corner light and run it to the right one?
