air accumulator

I just got an accumulator for my front end to hopefully get a little better ride out of my cylinders. I've been gettin mixed answers so I thought I would ask on here. Does it make a big difference how close it's mounted to the cylinders??? Should I make some brackets and mount it behind my front bumper cause my valves are under the hood or move my valves to the trunk and mount it in there???
