S-10 help

I have an 84 s-10, can i lay frame with the stock gas tank in place... and if so... is there a four link i can use so i dont have to replace it.. and i dont think that i want a reverse 4 link, cause im putting a 350 in and i heard reverse isnt good for torquey engines, Thanks
