CHECK VALVE FOR TANK?? LOOK

I've had a few problems with my compressors leaking, I was thinking about putting a check valve in line between my compressors and tank to keep some of the pressure off of them, anyone tried this? Think it will help? Will it slow down my compression time any? Thanx
