There is a guy out here in Germany with a mini cooper with a honda v-tec and a fiberglass tilt front. He can roast the tires in all the gears. The car is a fucking beast.

I thought I would throw up a couple new pics and give a little update. I still have to finish up the body work and paint, but I have replaced the sections of rust in my box with sections from an old door to preserve the proper body lines. I also sectioned in some 4x4 rear fenders, shaved the gas filler, cut out the section of box floor between the outer skin of the box and the bolt in inner box sides. Then welded in the inners back in. I wanted to eliminate that seam that always rusts out. I've thrown some chrome goodies I on that I got from a 4Runner, grill, door handles, tail lights, full instrumentation package, digital clock and some coin holders from a Cressida that clipped right into a couple spots that had blanking plates in the dash. I'm having the bench seat reupholstered because I love bench seats in regular cab trucks. And I picked up a 4Runner top that I may turn into a canopy at some point. Also I am still looking into getting a convertible kit for it as well as some 4x4 front fenders and a newer 4Runner bumper. I'm keeping this as a budget project so as I find good deals on these items I'll pick them up.

Here is my next project. 1967 Mini Traveller that I am planning on swapping a VTEC into, probably a B16A2. I will also put on 9.5" disk brakes up front with 13x7 Minilight wheels and it will be light green with a black roof and fender flares. It's already got a fiberglass front, but I think I might sell it and build a steel front that flips up like my TurboMini.

I've been doing a little work to both my truck and the Mini.
Making some room for a sub, but I still wanted to put my seat all the way back.

I was considering various Toyota truck or 4Runner bumpers but then decided to try a Supra bumper since I am a Supra fan and already had Supra sawblade wheels. Threw it on tonight to see if I could make it work. I still have to do some trimming and some wiring of lights, but the hardest part is done.

I stripped the Mini and cut the rust out and I am busy welding in some new metal. Including a rear floor section from a 4Runner for the rear cargo area of the Mini. I decided to ditch the spare tire well and I also wanted a floor that could carry more of a load without being damaged.

Those minis are freakin awesome! The truck is going to be hott too, I really wish I could work sheet metal like that. Where did you get the Minis? Are they easy to track down up there?

Minis aren't that hard to find here if you know who to talk to, and I know alot of people in the Mini scene here. I even have a friend who imports rust free low milage ones from Japan. However, the Travellers (station wagons) are harder to find, but enough people know that I'm into Mini and they find me. Somebody knocked on my door one day to see if I wanted the one they had before they put it up for sale. Another person phoned me a few months ago and my girlfriends brother ended up buying that Traveller. I'm currently looking for a B16A VTEC to put in my Traveller to wake it up a little.

Honestly, that would be the coolest thing ever, a Mini rockin a B-series motor, or imagine a K20... SO tight. Now if only I could find one.

Well, the B series and the K20 have already been done, so I can't take the credit for the idea. I am going with the B series because it will be quite silly and I can still fit it under the stock hood and fenders with some effort. Most conversions lengthen the front end. I think that is lame. What is the point of using a Mini if you are going to make it bigger.
This website shows lots of VTEC Minis.

This video is German, but you will get the idea. It's a Blue B16A powered Mini Traveller similar to the one I am building racing a new Cooper S and a Porsche on the 'Ring. Mine will be a light green with black roof and fender flares and have Minilight style wheels.
