Hey there,
I'm a huge Toyota fan in Canada, I've owned a few Toyotas including a 13B powered 1977 Corolla, 1989 4Runner with factory molded door panels, 1983 Tercel with removed emissions equipment and I currently own a low milage 1984 Supra that will be getting collector plates next year.
My most recent Toyota is a 1987 Toyota Pickup that I bought for $150. I've always liked mini trucks. I think the trend of all trucks getting so huge is ridiculous, most people will never have a use for the size of truck they drive. Mini trucks can get most jobs done that the average person will ever need to do I look forward to the day when some manufacturer get the brilliant idea that a small truck will be useful and everybody gets excited about this brilliant new idea. Anyway, the previous owner was a mechanic who got the truck because the timing chain broke. He cheated and replaced the timing chain without removing the head and didn't realize the 22R is in interference engine. So when he put the engine back together it wouldn't run because there was no compression. I pulled the head and replaced the intake valves with some used ones I had around, now it runs like a champ.
I lowered it 3 inches and threw some polished MKIII Supra wheels on that I had sitting here.
I'm planning to keep it as a low budget project that I use as a daily driver so I can haul parts for my Minis and to keep milage off of my Supra. But I'm going to fix the rust and put 4x4 fenders on all round and maybe a 1st gen 4Runner chrome grill and a mid 90's front chrome bumper.
Here are some pics.
When I picked it up.
I don't know why I need to prove that I had the engine apart, but here you go.
