jet valve for 87 d50 2.0

what is the purpose of the jet valves on my 2.0? why is it there does it need to be there ? i have read on some other forums that guys are doing jet valve elimination kits for the 2.6 and someone else did one on a 2.0 do they make an elimination kit for the 2.0 ?if so where can i buy it at and what are the benifits of doing the elimination kit
