New Hopefully Soon to Be owner with questions

Hey everyone, new here and I will cut straight to the point. I drive a 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT but my gf's dad has a 1993 Mighty Max base model, 2.4 manual with around 180k. Lately it has been giving him problems to the point where his wife told him to get rid of it.

I either want to buy it from him or help him fix it and will post in the tech thread.
