I would pull the front cover and make sure the pump isnt off time because it could be starving. Check belts and such and if they look worn replace with new tensioners. You would have to find a way to reroute the timing belt if you want to try to delete the pump. Also ask if it ran worse or just lacked any power, if it ran a little rougher it could be injectors, also maybe the wastegate acuator could be going. Mine didnt have a wastegate and was wired open meaning my turbo wasn't any use and it still had some cahones. These trucks are not rockets but are pretty deceptively fast from what i remember about my dads old diesel. You could always part it out and get more money out of it if you decide after buying its not worth it. Where are you located??

thanks for all the help man, i get the idea from what ur saying about the timing belt that the fuel pump runs off that timing belt? and id have to remove it to use a inline pump? what would happen if i just left it there? i checked the waste gate acctuator and it seems to be fine. and he said he did the timing belt and tenioners berfore it died so im still leaning toward the fuel delivery, and like you say i could part it out and easily make my money back. im up in kelwona b.c canada.

Even more of a chance that he messed up the timing tensioner.

iv had a chance to look over the motor and i suspect fuel delivery..... not to the injectors but the injector pump its self... but i cant for the life of me find the actual fuel pump or lift pump... iv googled and searched but cant find a picture of this or info about it.. i was just condsiering bypassing it and putting in a inline electirc pump. anybody have and thoghts or info on this ? thanks in advance
