Dropping my explorer?

It's a 1999 explorer xls 4x4. It's got 20400 miles on it so it's not worth a whole lot and it still runs great and looks pretty good(got a few dents I need to get out). The front has always sat higher than the rear so I pulled the front torsion bolts out Saturday and It lowered the pass side about 2" and the drivers almost 3". After I get my stereo in I'll worry about the back(gotta see how much it squats her). I had a few ?s on getting it lower.

1. Can I pull the 4 wheel drive stuff from the front(axle and cv shafts)with my wheels not falling off.

2. The front crossmember hangs way down and will hit like 6" before the front lays out is that the same on the rangers and how do you fix it?

3. If I bag it how big of wheels can I use and still keep the back seat and not run into huge issues?

Thanks guys I hope you can help me.
