Explorer vs. Ranger suspension

I know there are many many similarities between the two vehicles, but i was wondering how comparable their suspension setups are... for lowering and lifting. I have a 97 Explorer w/ a 4.0ltr and want to lift it up a couple inches w/ some meaty tires and use it to tow my boat, and future mini projects. Could i order a skyjacker lift kit for a ranger and slap that bitz on my exploder?

yup the 2wd and 4wd 95 up explorers have the exact same suspension. if its 2 wd i would crank the t bars, lift spindle and SOA in the rear. if its 4x4 tho, those kits are pricey as fuck.
