Reindexing vs loosened torsion bars

Correct me if I'm wrong, but in my mind it seems like the end result of both of these methods would be the same. I turned the bolts on my torsions about 12 turns, which lowered me enough that I have about 2" wheel gap in the front. Would re-indexing my bars give me back some ride quality? My front suspension is rather soft.

My bars are cranked for lift and I ride hard, so, probably.
