no power

I have the b2200 stock motor nothing done to it. Stock tire size and drive line is stock. I can think of why it is using so much gas. Gets 17 mpg. I also don't now why it doesn't have much power. motor runs good and sounds good other then that. Maybe carb is bad. Anyone know what it could be.
