Oil on the spark plug cylinder end, probably rings. Does it smoke when running, like held at about 2000 r.p.m.? Check the compression, hope for 130 or better reading all cylinders.

Doesn't smoke I need to get a compression tester

Where is the oil on the plug, then?
Autozone or others may loan a tester.

its at the end where the spark plug creates spark.

"morning it always dies on first start up then its fine after that."
====================

First pump the throttle 3-4 ties, then start it, no toucjh of the throttle.
Then do not touch throttle until the engine smooths out, then tap it. If any of this allows the engine to die, something in the choke system needs adjusting.

Check compression, expect bad, should be 130 or better.

thanks for the answers i suspect the compression is bad, should i just drive it till it is done then rebuild it?

It sounds like a choke adjustment to me. Compression issues exhibit other symptoms.

As long as it seems dependable, no issues but the blue smoke, I would drive it, A coupla decades ago blue smoke would have bothered me too much. I would have rebuilt it, now I would put off the expense.
So, think about what direction you are heading with the truck, and milk the dependable run, while saving for the master plan, rebuilt or upgrade.
Check oil, pay attention to the oil light [from the time you turn the key to on (light comes on for sure before you start the engine) until you turn the key off], temperature gage and fuel (duh). Check the oil and water (when cool) levels regularly.
Have you changed the fuel inline filter lately?

Oily plugs no noticeable smoke, valve seals likely

Nope haven't don't the fuel filter you suggest I change that? The car seems reliable but it just goes through oil like a monster, my oil turned black black black after 1 week of driving.
