Got an engine question ?

I have a quick question. I am rebuilding a 1987 b2000 engine to put in the truck I am currently driving. My question is how far and how much can I put together on engine stand and still drop in truck without clearance issues ? Dustin

Can you do fully assembled with transmission ?

You sure can although you'll need the truck on a lift and angle the motor/trans a lot - on my last truck with the 5.0, I cut the rad sport and made the center piece removable (like so many other cars) so I could slide the motor into the chassis easier.

Ok good to know, I am just waiting on the head to return from machine shop then I can install intake , carb , and exhaust manifold. Getting tired of waiting !!! I am so ready to get this swap done. Dustin
