Why is my oil light on?
I have a 90 B2200 that I just bought a few days ago and the oil light is on and I dont know why. Is there any reason besides low oil why it would be on? I just changed the oil and its full and its still on. And also my anti-lock light is on i guess for abs. The brakes work fine though.
Yes, brakes can work perfectly fine, and well, with the ABS system malfunctioning. You likely just have something wrong in the ABS aprt of things, to help in a panic stop. First thing to look at there would be a bad ABS fuse (if there is one) and the sensors at the wheels.
I was looking at my oil sender switch and there actually wasnt a wire connected to it. The wire is gone. Im going to get a new sender with the wire but i dont know where that wire connects to.
Yeah, it's likely broken and touching engine metal. Do you have a wiring diagram?
The 1991 Wiring diagram lists the wire to the oil light from the sender being Y/R (yellow/red stripe). So look under the hood, under the dash, or behind the instrument panel for that color wire. That would be for carb or fuel-injected B2200.
The wiring harness is directly under the intake manifold and my guess it probably is just hanging there. If not I might snap a pic thur of mine to show it time permitting.
I cant find this wire for the life of me. I bought a new sender with the wire attached to it. And i cant find the wire that plugs into the sender harness. Also unrelated to this the automatic choke assembly on the very back of the carburetor that has a wire connected to it isnt connected to anything either and i cant find anything to connect it to. Where do these wires go??? Please help!
The wire on the choke goes to the alt if I'm not mistaken...
