Tranny won't go into gear????

Well, as you all know, I have had my truck torn down having the head reworked. Well, got the head back and got everything together. Fired it up yesterday, and had to adjust the timing just a little, but seems to run pretty good (although it's kinda hard to tell with the sound of an open header).

While I had the engine/tranny out, I went ahead and installed a new clutch kit, including TO bearing and Pilot bearing. I fired the truck back again today, and was gonna take it down the road for a little test drive. So, I fire the truck up and go to put it in reverse, and all it does is grind, almost like I wasn't even pushing in on the clutch pedal. So I'm like WTF!

I did install the old clutch slave cylinder, and thought that maybe it needed bled, so had a buddy help me bleed it, and still nothing. I can watch the slave cylinder move the arm back and forth, but it WILL NOT even attempt to go into gear. Although, I did pump it up ALOT at one time, and get it to take reverse, ONCE! So while purchasing all the parts for the build, I went ahead and purchased a new slave cylinder. So my buddy and I replace the clutch slave cylinder with the new one, and still NOTHING! When you push in the clutch pedal, and all the way to the floor, it still grinds as if you haven't even pushed in on the clutch pedal. We did check the clutch master cylinder for any leaks, as well as checked the new slave cylinder, and didn't see anything leaking. I have been reading over the other posts about problems like these, but of to no avail.

I am completely lost here! Any ideas?

How much travel is in the rod?

These trucks are notorious for having a low hydralic pressure problem after opening the line.

There is air in the line.

Its getting compressed, whereas fluid won't.

So any air in the line prevents full expansion at the joint.

Well, after starting a new job, and getting the sh*t worked out of me for the past 2 weeks, I finally got a round to working on this issue!

Good News guys, decided to remove the boot over the shifter arm on the side of the tranny, and everything looked fine. So decided to check the push rod for the clutch pedal, and BAM, noticed it wasn't moving very much while pushing in on the clutch pedal, so took it off and adjusted it a little, and SNAP, I now have clutch.

Took the truck down the road (with open header too, sounded MEAN....lol), and it drives/shifts perfect.
