fuel question

just put a new mesh screen in my holley red pump and i noticed that my fuel filter isnt all the way full now. i drove it about 5 or 6 miles to see if any air would come out and it would fill up full but no luck. what should i do, any help would be great..... thanks

i have never had a filter fill all the way up

i have a OUTLAW PERFORMANCE 38 DGES carb and after the fuel filter is the regulator at 4 psi if that helps. i remember when i look at it sometimes its full and other times its not. if this helps at all.
