tapping noise???

i got a tapping noise and it sounds like its coming from the head, i checked my valve lash but it was okay...it just started after i changed the head gasket and then did the timing. its really irritating so if anyone knows what it could be let me know. shoots

may be that the valves just havent had time to pump back up yet.

is it 2.0 or 2.2

Sounds like mine,
My motor was rebuilt 20,000 miles ago and the guy said the oil pump might be going out
Then I was under the impression the it was valve cover tap.
Took the valve cover off still heard the noise, still had oil pressure and I know
Its not a rod knock and idk what to think?

im pretty sure its a 2.0 head cause its adjustable.

If its the 2.2 my problem was the cam gear came off the cam and was loose and I jumped timing
And it sounded like a rod knock when really it was something that simple,
Just re numbered the cam for timing, and then retimed it and now she's purring
Like a kitten
