so you have no t stat in the truck right now and she is still running hot?
my advice is inspect the fins on your radiator. if they are old and and falling apart or clogged with crap your rad wont do its job. a bad head gasket could also make it overheat.

also make sure there is no air in your lines.

Sounds like the rad cap is not functioning properly.

I would agree to replace the rad cap. Might be weak letting it open to soon.

Sometimes pulling your thermostat will actually make a vehicle run hot. The water flows through the block to fast to absorb the heat. Just fyi.

that sounds like a head gasket man, you can get oil in the water but not always get water in the oil

easy way to see if its a bad headgasket take the rad cap off and if you see bubbles its bad. Since you have oil in the rad I'm sure its a bad headgasket, bummer.

the truck is spitting antfreeze from the fittings that connect the metal pipe to the exuast manifold. is that another sign of the head gasket or what?
