Cheap + easy power boost for 1991 B2200 carb?

So basically I have a little old 1991 B2200 Cab Plus. I was thinking that eventually I'd swap in a Kia FE3 and do all of that work to give it a power upgrade, but installing a different used engine and converting the truck to EFI alone I think may be too much, so I'm planning on doing just a rebuild to clean it and replace all of the seals.
Is there a fairly simple way to increase compression on carburated B2200's without switching to EFI? I was thinking of maybe getting a supercharger but I don't think they work with carbs.

A simple upgrade would be a weber carb and a header. If you want to switch to efi, you could get a turbo setup from an mx-6.

Yeah I think I'll just stick with the carb and header, because I plan on getting another engine like the one in my truck so I can rebuild/upgrade that one while using my truck to get around, then switching over with as few complications as possible.

Install a set of B-2000 pistons.

Switching to EFI doesn't boost compression.

clean the vacuum ports on the intake with a small drill bit they get plugged up with carbon then everything that rely on vacuum don't work ex:vacuum advance. my truck ran like a whole new animal just cleaning them ports out. the ports on top the intake where just caked full of carbon build up

Please tell me, how does switching to FE pistons in an F2 boosts compression?

I'm gonna rebuild my 89 B2200 F2 engine, could buy FE pistons if I get solid data on piston compression heights, which I've not yet found.
Both engines have the same bore. Both have the same 8.6 compression ratio. They increased the F2's stroke, and deck height. And seems they would've used the same height piston for same compression ratio.
I'd like to get at least 9.5:1 for more torque, better fuel economy. Don't wanna mill stuff any more than necessary.

it wont make a difference, but assuming your block is a 2.2, put a 2.0 head on from a b2000. that's what I did, now I can adjust my rocker arms.

Agreed, I did the same thing to my 92 EFI. 2.2 bottom end and a 2.0 head. Now I have a lot less "TICK", but its still there. Pretty much the same power, or lack thereof.

2.0 pistons are flat on top and 2.2 pistons are concave (dished) in order to keep compression at 8.6.

Remove the dish concavity and the compression goes up.

Drop in upgrade.
