engine surging question

hey guys i just picked up another mazda, this one is an 89 b2200 reg cab
this thing will not stay running with out feathering the gas pedal, i am assuming its either the carb or the fuel pump, what do you guys think?
is ther a quick thing i could check on the carb? vac lines?

try the filter also... and to your carb might need to adjusted a lil....

Great Chief Lottanookie says if u r running the stock carb,there is an idle adjustment screw,gold hex head slotted on passenger side rear of carb.Righty up idle,lefty slower idle.Set it up a half turn or so and see if that helps.BJ
