wondering if this filter shuold have 3 hoses going to it. the guy that took it out only taped 2 toghter which i believe go on the bottom. is there suppose to be a hose on the top?
here are the 2 hoses that he taped toghter on the bungee cord. looks like one runs to gas tank line and the other goes a vacuum moulder.

Usually 3 on the top-they have color coded dots on top of the outlets that match the vacuum hose colors .Big one in the top center goes to the fitting at the base of the carb intake. The charcoal filter filters fumes from the tank so u really dont need it,but u might smell fumes if u block it off.BJ

mine doesn't have dots on filter to match hoses. in the pic above the dotted one goes to vacuum moulder it looks like, and other hose goes to tank line. my truck is 91 b2600 fuel injucted so i shouldn't have a hose comming from carb. i would like to just junk it if it's easy enough.

thanks.

The metal part of the canister is actually the bottom. The small black hole goes to the engine and the big black hole goes to the tank. Nothing goes to the tube on the metal part of the canister. It is just to let air into it.

thanks for the info. so does it have to mount straight up and down? or can i just get rid of it? if i'm able to get rid of it what do i need to do, tie both hoses together?

I'm not sure how to properly bypass it but yea if you were to keep it you would mount it with the tubes coming out the top.

i'll probably keep it, just don't have a lot of room to mount stuff.
thanks for the help.
