I am new to the forum. .
I have a 93 b2200 efi. The motor was blowin when I got the truck. I found a used motor from Japan with 35,000 miles on it. I have come to find out that it is a 2.0 motor not a 2.2. It was carbureted when I got it with all the accessories. I have a problem with it reving up and boging out. It will idle fine but when you go to give it gas it bogs out I can get it to 4000 rpm by snaping the throltte and runs ok but the issues between idle and 4000 rpm. I have replaced everything from the computer to the mass air flow sensor, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, fuel filter pretty much everything you can think of ...PLEASE HELP

Have you looked at the throttle position sensor? What color are your spark plugs? Also, is your ignition timing correct? There is a base timing position that needs to be set, then the computer controls the advance from that base setting.

Speaking of timing, is the timing the same between a 2.0 carb and a 2.2 carb? (wondering if the 2.0 has a different base timing between engines with the same fuel system)

As for you having a 2.0 motor with the stock EFI, it should not matter since there is an oxygen sensor, and airflow sensor, so I highly doubt that will be a problem.

I have not looked at the throttle position sensor yet. But I have looked at the timing the timing is on as far as on with a timing light but not in the slots it is off completely in the bracket I had to cut one side of the bracket to get the timing correct but it's not off a tooth because if I take it out and try to move it a tooth one way or the other the position of the distributor is way worse . Confused on that part....

I would check the timing belt to see if it has jumped a tooth on the cam. If that is off one tooth it will make it impossible to get the distributor to line up.
