Yeah I figure I'm going to buy some shackles for the rear. Do you know how much lift I could get away with by tightening the torsion bars before I run into issues? I'm also concerned my truck will ride like crap after this, will it? Do I just need to buy longer shocks to keep it riding comfy?

You raise it, you loose stability in handling. Need wider stance (dished rims, flared fenders to clear tires, etc.), larger sway barS.
After the rise, don't forget to get the frontend realigned.

I know this I'm just worried about how bumpy the ride will be and if I can fix that with longer shocks

There used to be shock extensions available in the '60's for this, yeah, like these:

Are those safe?

Should be only stress is in and out, just like on shock without them. Raising vehicle, of course not worried about bottoming out, but reaching end of travel too soon.
