I know the auto trannys are a little larger than manuals.
Is there any tunnel modifications needed for either Ford's AOD or C4 transmissions?

I tried searching, came up kovz's v8 swap (manual) and a few others (manuals).
Just wondering what's tunnel mods are needed for those wanting an automatic with their V8 swaps.?

Thanks for any info!

the question I have for you is why an auto? Auto trans take up to 20% of your engines power to operate where as a manual takes 5% or less.

I used the manual T5 and had to "massage" the driver side of the tunnel a little bit.

In a couple of the pictures they discuss an automatic transmission being used and you'll need to cut out some of the tunnel for the kick-down linkage.

Because my left foot is killing me. Probably from the lousy commute and stop and go traffic in my manual shift Saturn.
I'm 42 and my body is kinda hurtin from years of hard labor on my feet.

Did the AOD first and then swapped to T5 - the AOD required very little "massaging"
