93 b2200 2.2l in a 87 b2000

I totaled my truck which was a 93 cab+ with a 2.2l which still runs fine but i found a 87 b2000 with a gummed up engine and before i get it. Does anyone know about how much performance i get if i swap engines and put the 2.2l in the b2000 and they have carbs. Pretty much what i'm saying is the performance be worth all the trouble of swaping engines?
