alright guys this might be a real dumb question but how do i get my chrome handles off??? ive got it to the point where its unbolted and everything but i cant get it disconnected from the rod inside the door please help!!!!

That rod is in a clip style fitting. Take a flat head screw driver and unlock the "snap-in lock" on the fitting to open it up. Then just pull the rod out of that fitting and you're good to go.
